Anxiety
Anxiety is a natural response to stress that everyone experiences at times. It can be a helpful signal, alerting us to potential dangers or challenges. However, when anxiety becomes overwhelming, persistent, or interferes with daily life, therapy can be helpful.
Anxiety is recognizable in different ways:
Physical symptoms may include a racing heart, rapid breathing, restlessness, dizziness, or stomach discomfort
Cognitive symptoms may include excessive worry, difficulty concentrating, or intrusive thoughts
Emotional symptoms may include feelings of fear, dread, or irritability
Behavioural symptoms may include avoidance of certain situations, difficulty sleeping, or seeking reassurance
In our work together, I help you understand what your anxiety is trying to tell you and work toward changing your response to anxiety. That might mean learning practical tools to reduce distress, identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, or exploring the deeper roots of your anxiety. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, and we’ll approach it with curiosity—not judgment.
