Anxiety Therapy for Adults in Ontario
You might benefit from anxiety therapy if:
you overthink situations long after they’re over
you feel functional on the outside but tense or exhausted inside
anxiety influences decisions about work, relationships, or social situations
you’re tired of managing anxiety on your own
Anxiety is a natural response to stress and uncertainty. In manageable amounts, it can be helpful. But when anxiety becomes persistent or overwhelming, it can begin to shape daily life in ways that feel limiting or draining. Many adults I work with describe feeling constantly on edge, stuck in worry loops, or unsure how to quiet their minds—even when things appear “fine” from the outside.
How Anxiety Can Show Up
Anxiety often affects several areas at once:
Physical: racing heart, tension, restlessness, dizziness, stomach discomfort
Cognitive: excessive worry, overthinking, intrusive thoughts, difficulty concentrating
Emotional: fear, dread, irritability, emotional overwhelm
Behavioural: avoidance, reassurance-seeking, sleep difficulties, pushing through at a high personal cost
How Therapy Can Help
In therapy, we focus on understanding how anxiety operates in your life and how current coping strategies may be unintentionally maintaining it. Our work may include learning practical tools to reduce distress, changing your relationship to anxious thoughts, and exploring deeper emotional or relational patterns that contribute to anxiety.
I use an integrative, evidence-based approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), depending on your needs. Therapy is collaborative, paced carefully, and grounded in curiosity rather than judgment.
If anxiety has been taking up more space than you’d like, support is available. You’re welcome to book a session online or learn more about what to expect in therapy.
